Foodsaver 2460 at Costco

Saw the Foodsaver 2460 at Costco last night for $50 after a $25 instant rebate. Anyone use the 2460? Seems like a good entry level system as compared to the 3880 at Costco for $150.

One thing I'm trying to figure out about the 2460 is do you have to buy the bags or can you make your own from the bulk rolls?

I'm not familiar with that particular model, but I think any foodsaver model should work with the rolls.

Found this on Amazon, and it looks like it includes roll storage and cutter...and this particular one even comes with a roll :)

I have the 2460 and it works great! Love it so far! Can't beat the Costco warranty either.

I have the V2222, which is a similar design, and I love it over the "vertical" design that uses vacuum rather than a lever to close the seal chamber.

I purchased the V2460 at Costco for $50. It comes with an 11"x10' roll and five bags. It seems like a pretty good deal.

The only color I saw was white.

I just saw these as Costco and was kind of bummed and wondering, what's the difference? I bought the 3800 series one from Costco a few months ago, have unpacked it, but not used it yet. What's this new much cheaper one lacking that the 3800 has?

I got this. Works great. Done quite a few hinges with it and going to be packaging a lot of bacon tomorrow.

Ended up getting the V2460 from Costco this past Friday. Just vacuum sealed some pulled pork I made on Saturday and here are a few pictures of the unit. It does come with 5 bags and roll to make your own bags. There is also a hose attachment for use with Food Saver jars and other assorted containers.

Overall pretty simple to use...

1) Unroll a few inches and seal one end.

2) Unroll enough to put your food into plus 3 inches.

3) Seal the first end by using the locking lever and hitting the "Seal" button.

4) Fill with your food, pulled pork in this instance, and leave at least 3 inches in the end.

5) Place opened end of bag into the vacuum chamber. I made the mistake of letting it sit flat across the chamber and the unit kept running and running and not pulling much of a seal. Rereading the direction and doing it right this time around, only about 25-30 seconds to seal.

6) Label and freeze!

The unit is a bit on the loud side and vibrates a bit on the counter. The jury is still out, but for the price of $50 and Costco's great return policy, figured I couldn't go wrong with this as a starter unit.
