Cleaning a BGE Table

This might be a stupid question, but the table that came with my large BGE has gotten a bunch of grease/charcoal stains on it.. What is the best method for cleaning a BGE table?

Might be a sand paper and elbow grease job.

If the stains soaked into the wood because you didn't have a finish on it, you can only sand it out (like Eggcelsior said).  It should be a crime to sell those tables unfinished.

I use my oscillating sander on my tables since they are unfinished. Doing it by hand would take forever. If you don't have an oscillating sander they are pretty cheap around $30 for a cheaper brand.
  • Thanks guys.. Yeah, it came unfinished, and since I got it used, I wasn't able to finish it before some of the stains had soaked in..

I was using an old wire brush for a test, but the bristles were breaking off.. I'll just use the sander on it.

I'd use the lightest sandpaper you can get by with. The heavy grit tends to leave swirl marks.
Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN
