Chili too salty

I just started a batch of chili and made the mistake of using too much salt.  I'm hoping there's a way to salvage it without having to double the batch.  I've heard about adding a couple of potatoes to absorb some of the salt.

I thought if anyone would know it would be this group.  Any other ideas out there?

The potato idea is the only one I'm aware of, good luck!

I don't know if I'd double it. You might just end up with twice as much salty chili. Potatoes help but they won't work miracles. Good luck. We've all been there.

  • Thanks for the the replys.  After cooking for a while it seems that it mellowed out a bit.  I'll know better next time.
