Probe placement question

So I have my new Maverick ET-732 on the way and I had a question arrise. I know that the probe needs to be over one of the plate setter legs but does it just rest on the grate? Shoulde I get a little holder thing or something so that it is just hanging out in the air somehow? As far as wrapping the probe is concerned do I need to wrap the entire wire in aluminum foil or just where the probe needle attaches to the probe wire? Thanks in advance.

    It comes with a holder, though you might lose it. You can stick the probe through a potato or rest on a ball of HDAF. I encase the wire in foil the entire length it's in the egg (and my food probe still failed after about 8 months of use).

    it should have come with a clip that goes beween the "lines" of the cooking grate to hold the pit probe in place. I don't wrap with foil at all so no help there.

    Here is a photo of the clip and pit probe mounted on the cooking grid.
    This set-up has the setter mounted on the CI grid, SS grid on the setter, will low and slow the steaks, then remove SS grid and setter to sear on the CI grid.
