Quick question: If one has "fried their gasket" due to too high of temps, how can one tell that their gasket is fried? Does smoke billow out around the edges of your egg? Thanks
Basically if you can't hold temperature @250 you need to replace your gasket. There are many that cook without gaskets, alot depends on how well the base and lid are aligned.

IMO the gasket is more for a cushion closing the lid than anything
