Newbie 1st time cook on the BGE XL

Hi everyone!

I am just finishing up my 1st cook... 2 pork shoulders. One was 14.5lbs and the other 13lbs. I have made some Eastern NC style vinegar-based sauce to go with it as well.

  • Nice - love that NC vinegar sauce, my favorite, used on the slaw too. How did the underside of those shoulders come out?
Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

The underside turned out great! It really fell off of the bone! Just delivered one shoulder to my dad and shreaded up mine. I'll be making slaw tomorrow to go with it. My experience working 32 years on the side for Allen & Son BBQ in Chapel Hill has paid off! :)
