Thinking about a tailgate grill

Got some extra Christmas $$$ and am thinking about getting something to grill on the quad before Bama games. Looking for some input.

I am trying to decide between either a mini/small BGE, smokey Joe/Jumbo joe, and to a lesser degree Weber Q. 

The downside to the BGEs is the weight. I do have a pretty big wagon to pull all our other stuff with, but it's still a lot of extra weight.

The downsides to the Webers is that, well they aren't BGEs.

Finally, the Weber Q would be light, easy and clean. But no smokey flavor on anything.

    I take the small or mini or sometimes both. The small is much better if you are planning on cooking for a crowd.

    nice thing about the smokey/jumbo joe is that being metal, they cool down faster than a BGE.  If you finish cooking closer to kick-off than planned, it is easier to pack up.

  • We take our small Rving, or the other day we went into the mountains to go snow shoeing, brought the small along to cook lunch on. Lots of fun because it is so versatile.
