Anyone use any apps or software for keeping track of their recipes? My list is growing and the 2" binder I have been using is getting old. An app for mac and iphone would be best but whatever works.
I love Macgournet. I have all of my recipes on it. It even makes a cookbook with Table of Contents and Index. You can even download the recipes to your iphone, which is good for shopping at the grocery store.

I use and like Recipe Box for iPad and iPhone. We keep all of our recipes on the iPad, and I send the few I want to use when I'm Egging to the iPhone. They have a new "instant import" from some of the more popular food sites that still has a few bugs but really saves time. Don't believe they have a desktop version if that's important to you.
Slightly different tack here. I copy/paste any recipes that sound good into a Pages document, then store it on my Dropbox account, which I manually divide up into folders via recipe type (I'm old-school, used to do this with actual paper files).
I don't have any iToys that I can set up in my kitchen, so I hit my iMac downstairs (hooked up to the printer) to print out any recipe I want to try that night.
Yeah, I still use a rotary phone too.
:-S
Live fast, die young, and leave a well-marbled corpse.
I have used Cookware Deluxe from Digital Fried Chicken for years and really do like the application. You can plan out your entire menu and the software will generate a complete shopping list for you.
I have used Evernote, It is cross platform so everything syncs and available on any device. If you are viewing a recipe on any webpage, just click and save to Evernote. Heading to the store and need ingredients, pull up evernote on your phone. Cooking in the kitchen, pull up evernote on your ipad. Researching in your office, pull up evernote on your pc or mac.
That being said. I am a pc/windows phone guy and now use Microsoft Onenote. Essentially the same thing, but more robust in my opinion. It is cross platform as well...
Might be a bit off, but before I heard (or thought of recipe software), I just started my blog. It wasn't really for anybody else, but just so I could keep track of my cooks, ingredients, temps, times and pics so I could reproduce it. Side benefit is that now other people can benefit from it.
It is one of those applications I couldn't do without. You can create notes by typing, copy/paste or you can use one of the included web clippers or email add ons. Clipping recipes from web pages is super simple. The combination of folder, tags and a powerful search function allows me to find anything I've saved in a matter of seconds. It's available for Mac, Windows, iOS, Android and other platforms. A great tool!
On Mac, Ipad and Iphone, , I just copy and paste threads, comments or recipes to Notes......it is sync'ed across all applications instantly thru Icloud. From notes, I can mail , print , text all recipes and notes.

which one specifically? I don't find any called just 'recipe box', but several with recipe box in the name.

Griffin - that is exactly how and why I started a blog. More or less a diary of my favorite recipes and I refer to them while cooking all the time. Great minds think alike :)

Ditto - it's indexed by date and category, and it's Google searchable, plus I've got photos to job my memory.
Food & Fire - The carnivorous ramblings of a gluten-free grillmeister
I use this too. I have all my recipes available on every device I own, and I can share easily with others, as well as make adjustments/notes easily from my phone when I'm outside.
I use my brain to store the recipes, but lately its been over crowded with all this Thanksgiving ideas and the Martinis and Wine have also helped thin it out.
I write most down and keep in a notebook. I should look into some sort of system on the computer.
I try to learn concepts, not details. Like 5% brine will work into a chicken breast in 6 hours, and a 10% brine will take roughly half as long, but needs a longer rest before cooking.
