Kershaw kitchen shears. Lifetime warranty. These things are great! They have a boning notch that makes spatchcocked chicken a breeze.Mark Annville, PA

I'm cheap. I bought a pair of tin snips (not aviation snips) for about $9. Been using them for some years, no sharpening, no maintenance other than soap and water.

I have a pair of stainless shears that work great for chicken, I have done a 12# turkey, but for my hand size and grip it was starting to approach the limit. Spring loaded to open and small bone notch. After 5 months they seem to be holding their edge very well.Only marks on them "Stainless Steel", not sure where they are made or who makes them.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

thanks all ... keep them coming

tin snips sound like a good idea. I have a few pair, but they're filthy.

I thought about buying a pair of poultry shears for spatchcocking chicken. Then I sharpened my knives. I no longer have any need for shears.

I too, like the idea of tin snips...(clean NEW, tin snips...not the ones in my tool box!)
I'm thinking if the tin snips won't snip the bird in half easily, nuthin' will!
