Wouldn't the movement of the boat on any sort of a wave height over time break up the internal ceramic components?
That's what I was thinking - if it were me (which, it isn't, cuz I don't have a boat), but I would've come up w/ some sort of gyroscope mounting dock such that the Egg remains level no matter what the inclination of the boat is.
Don't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water. Now you put water in a cup, it becomes the cup... Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. - Bruce Lee
At one time, someone had a picture of a mini on a boat, mounted in a gimble, which does just what HH is referring to - keeps the Egg level, as the boat moves around, under it.
I hear some fishing charters will come back to the marina and prepare fresh catch of the day for their parties. We cooked in Seattle at the water's edge looking accoss the water at the space needle cityscape one weekend....Egging with a beautiful water view, good times.
Down here in Pensacola a number of the charter boats have eggs on them and I have been friends with most of the guys for years! Some have had the BGE on their boats for 4 years and no problems at all. Works suprisingly well till you open it up and the chicken rolls off onto the deck! True story... lol
that is a well constructed, very nice looking stand.
Not sure I would want an egg on a boat, well, let me rephrase, I want one but not sure I would do that. Might be more likely on a lake, but I definately would not on salt water. Have pitched and rolled way too much on 40-50 foot boats. Would be concerned about the pull of the weight up that high on the fiberglass deck in the cockpit.
Guess it would depend on the specfic boat, what the floor of the cockpit was like.
Hey if it works for someone - more power. I would definately prefer cooking on an egg to the little propane powered magma.
Marina where our boat is would not allow. Something about fire hazard... Either way - Very nice stand - I am almost lusting for that stand in the back yard.

They probably don't let you grill while docked, right? Not letting boats with grills moor there sounds a little draconian. Most larger boats have stoves and ovens in the galley.
