Has any one tried to use woven ceramic fiber gasket? This is a product born from the space programs, and is rated to 1400 deg F. Here is a link to the product sold by McMaster-Carr. http://www.mcmaster.com/#ceramic-strips/=juommm I use this material to gasket access doors on boilers and ovens.

should be fine. I put a rutland on 2 months ago. is it adhesive backed? on the spec sheet the rated the adhesive at 300* F which would be a problem quick. a tube of copper permatex will fix that and its like $8 at an auto parts store.
