  • Loving the pork, but sauerkraut isn't in my vocabulary.

Thanks all-- glad to see you guys enjoyed the cook. This was an easy one for anyone that wants to give it a try. One thing worth mentioning is that I used bagged sauerkraut from the deli section of the the store, not canned (which would work)....the key is to make sure you drain and rinse the kraut before adding to pot...would be overly salty if not. -@Travis...plenty of beer was consumed during cook/dinner...just didn't make the pics- Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

Yeah, carrots aren't really traditional to be in there with pork and sauerkraut, but sounded good to me at the time.

  • What would you suggest instead if using alcohol?

Chicken stock, apple cider if you like it sweeter, water would even work.
    ·
  • Cool. I'll have to try this when I get a chance

Lil Brown Shugga for me tonight. I bought a six pack of it, but it way to sweet for me. @mighty_Quinn any stouts or porters you can recommend? I am trying to expand my beer palate, and do so with less hoppy beers thus time of year.

  • Mighty Quinn, this will be our New Tears meal. Quick question on temp. Thinking of cooking indirect at around 350. Is that kind of what you did?
