Picked all this up for $500 at a store closing sale! 160+ bags of chips and 30 bags of lump. Should last me a bit.

I don't understand the logic. How can you even afford an egg? Mebbe you ended up with a better deal than I did :((

I'm sorry, I missed the memo, in addition to bacon are we going to have a lump shortage?

In some areas, you can't find lump for long after Labor Day, so ya gotta stock up, before they put it back into hiding, to make way for the Halloween and Christmas decorations.  You don't want to get into a desperate situation, and run out of lump, before spring brings it back onto the store shelves.

  • I did a bulk purchase to save money. I got my 20# bags of Humphrey for around $14 per bag.

And yes, the only lump available in the winter here is BGE lump at $28/bag.
