Well i decided to design and build a table of course. But it couldnt be just any table, it needed 2 eggs an awesome top and wood that would last a lifetime. So here is what i designed and built.

If you have the pic on your hard drive, just click "Attach a File" down on the bottom left of your comment box, then navigate to the directory where your pic is, then it should be self-explanatory from there.

If your pics are stored on an image hosting site (ie, photobucket, etc), then click on the 4th icon from the right above the comment box (hover over it & it should say "insert image") then insert the URL of where your pic is located.

Impressive. That is a huge piece of soapstone. Hope your deck is reinforced for the load. You probably know this, but don't be tempted to clean it with Windex type cleaners which will mar the oiled finish.

Wonder what it would cost to get a Big Blue Egg cut from a large block of soapstone?

My high school chemistry lab had soapstone topped tables or benches. If it can take the abuse of years of pimple faced jugheads, then I'm sure it can take anything!

The Egg on the right is a Large, Left of that is a Medium.

They are both sitting on next my Friend Made out of iron rod.

I had my Deck Made knowing that this was going to be on top. I do have to add a couple pieces of wood on the bottom under the legs, below the decking to support the decking. It is Composite and just want to keep it level when it heats up next summer, don't need it warping :)

For anyone considering this type of table, burn your checkbook.....

You'll be fine with the composite. Extra support won't be needed. As long as you built according to national code and manufacturer specs, the deck is designed to support 40lbs/sq ft of live load. Dead load is significantly higher. I'm not an engineer. Perhaps others could chime in with a dead load calculation.

Yes the top was over 2k The base is all redwood
