Big Green Egg - EGGhead Forum - The Ultimate Cooking Experience...
It doesn’t get much hotter than the EGG cookin’ in July! Make sure to keep yourself hydrated with a bit of whatever you’re using for the Beer Can Chicken. Ice Cream Sandwiches are also a great way to stay cool. Looking for some great ideas for a summer cook out? Try out a Pimento Cheeseburger or Dr. BBQ’s Spare Rib Surprise. Just don’t be surprised if your neighbors stop by for a quick bite when they smell what you’re cooking!

For those of you that have both do you find that the XL is easier to control temp on and recovers faster than your large . i've only had my XL for a week but it seems to be easier to maintain temp and recovers faster than my large

I found them to be about the same on recovery, and both are easy to control. While fundamentally the same, they are very different grills. The XL's design make airflow problems much less likely, and that might explain the difference you are seeing.
