Plate Setter Question
Why1504
Posts: 277
I just got a platesetter. Earlier today I cooked hamburgers and am ready to start a chuck roast for tomorrow. My grill is @ 150 degrees. Can I put the platesetter on now without thermal shock and breaking the plate setter? If I can't place it now, what is a safe temp?

I don't know what would be too high a temperature, but I promise that its WAY over 150.....has anyoune EVER broken one this way?
Have fun,

Well, that is kinda what I thought. I been doin the firebrick thing for 5 years and never had a problem except my firebox is cracked, and I don't want to bust the platesetter first time I use her.
Thanks!!

By the time I got the firebox loaded, wood chips ready, etc. it had cooled further, no thermal shock.
