I purchased one about 2 months ago...I have used it for 2 cooks on my CharGriller smoker.  Works fine as long as my phone is on the main level of my home.  My basement is the black hole of electronic signals from the outside world, and that includes the long distance blue tooth that the iGrill uses.
Love smoking chicken...but they are hard to keep lit ;-) http://daveyrayland.wordpress.com/ Small Egg / Weber OTG 22" / CharGriller Trio / Masterbuilt 30" Electric

The fact that It used Bluetooth swayed me to the maverick.

I am using mine for the first time today. (first low and slow today). It has a very nice interface for the iphone and ipad. But, I am having lots of problems with the connection dropping (had to reconnect 4 times so far today) Will not connect in my office on the second floor. I am considering returning it for the Maverick

Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I bought on a few months ago, right after buying my LBGE.  I use my iPad and have been happy with it so far.  I have used it on a brisket , bacon, tri-tip and spatchcock chickens with no problems.  I only have one probe for the internal temp and just use dome temp for cooking.  I generally leave the ipad near the cook and just check the temp once in a while.  I have taken it in the house a few times, once towards the back of the house, the connection was lost , but when I reconnected it it came back fine and it still had my temps, except for the period the signal was lost.

I have had no problems with saving the PDF and CSV data, in fact I have a post that shows a brisket cook internal temp.  http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/comment/1189437#Comment_1189437

I've had one for about a year.  Have had no big issues with it.  Just need to keep the battery on the ipad charged as the screen is on the whole time.  And I leave the ipad in one one location where I can here the alarms
