Tried a recipe from Cooks Country tonight, they called them Kansas City Pork Steaks.
Searing them first.
and the other side....
then into a pan with a BBQ & beer sauce to braise for an hour and a half.
Threw in some ears of corn at about 1:15 in. Note to self, use the XL next time.
Took off the pan and charred the corn a bit.
Put the steaks back on for a minute or two each side to glaze them up.
Sorry, no plated pics, we were to hungry to wait.
Verdict? Mighty tender and tasty, I WILL do this again!
Sorry the pics are pretty poor, I used my iPhone for them.

Nice cook and you are correct very good eats! I did this cook at the Austin Eggfest this year. Instead of mauls sauce I used beer, BBQ sauce and country style ribs from Costco. 8 pounds disappeared in less than 10 minutes. It is an great fest cookLarge, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

Interesting, I hadn't even considered country style ribs for this. I'm going to try that on my next batch. I didn't make the sauce they used in the video. Like you I used beer and Bulls eye sauce (my wife's favorite sauce). I really liked the technique of putting the steaks back on to glaze them after braising. I don't know the real name for it, but I first saw it in Nibble Me This' blog and Ive been using it a lot. Works great for a lot of my egg cooks.

Joan you got to add that to Salado in March.
Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.
