Bacon explosion Sunday!

Been drooling over thoughts of the Bacon Explosion for weeks and finally have the perfect day for it. Just picked up my first bag of Wicked Good lump at Ace today (wow what nice pieces of lump). Grill stabilizing now, gonna throw on 1 rack of BB ribs early to complement the bacon goodness. 

I'm doing 3 lbs of bacon and 3 pounds of Italian sausage, shredded cheddar chz, Bone Suckin Thick sauce and Boston Butt rub on the explosion.

    I made four of them for a Boat Rally once. I changed it up a bit though with Onions, Mushrooms, Green Peppers and pepperjack Cheese in the middle instead of the crispy bacon.

    i made one this afternoon finally.  Turned out really good.  i did bacon, ground beef, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapenos, banana peppers, grilled onion, and butt rub on the outside.

  • Wow was that amazing. One thing I would do different, is add more internal flavors like cream chz and onions. Also the bacon on the bottom was still a little soft. i enjoyed it but would finish it up maybe direct heat a little longer to crisp it up.
