I would just like to thank everyone for all the help. I purchased my egg last week. I made ribs for the first time on the BGE and they did not turn out well (too much smoke and bitter). I did some reading on the forum tried a second batch two days later and they were awesome. Thanks for the posts everyone makes because it does help. Hopefully soon I will try a pork shoulder.
Cheers

Welcome. Make sure your smoke smells good before putting on the ribs. I've learned patience is a key. Don't rush putting on the meat until everything is stable. Good luck on the shoulder. They are very forgiving and hard to screw up.__________________________________________It's not a science, it's an art. And it's flawed.- Camp Hill, PA

Well on vacation for a couple of weeks so egg will have to wait. Hope the kids don't destroy the house.

Welcome to the club. Pork butts come out great on the egg so you definitely want to do one as soon as possible. Enjoy your vacation and happy egging when you get back.
