I'm in the mood for some pizza tonight but my local dealer does not carry any stones or anything else really. Everything has to be ordered in advance. Is their a good pizza stone that's sold at Target or a big box store that I can use and wont break right away?? I have a medium bge.

yes- go to HD or lowe's and get an unglazed quarry tile. it'll serve the same purpose until you get the one you want

You should ask yourself what temp your dough will be cooked at. If you buy a stone rated for 500 degrees and stay around its limits you may be ok.......I know the BJs (wholesale club) near me sells a grill pizza stone with a peel for under 25 bucks. I don't know of the quality. I use a Pampered Chef stone.

If you have a Crate and Barrel near by they have a pizza grilling stone that I just picked up and works great. It is a bit cheaper than the BGE at $36.95, 14.25" in diameter and heat resistant to 800 degrees. I was using the Pampered Chef one like Brownie and it worked great. I read that there was an issue with them cracking under the high heat of the egg so I decided to proactively switch before I had an issue.

Just reread your post and see that you have a medium BGE. The stone I suggested may be too big so you may want to verify that first. I use it with a large BGE.

I practically live on an island. No Crate and Barrel or BJs club here. Their is a HD and Target, Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond. That's about it if IIRC. I may have to go with the quarry tile.

Bed Bath & Beyond will carry one... you may want to call or check online for temp rating.

B3 carry several including a few that can withstand hi temps.

We're on our second stone. This is what we're using now, very nice... http://www.amazon.com/Old-Stone-4461-16-Inch-Oven/dp/B0000E19MW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1341686335&sr=8-2&keywords=old+stone+oven+stone
