Pit Vipers
I have had ny BGE for over A year and I love it. My question is what do you think of the Pit Vipers or other controllers do they really work as well as they claim and are they worth the price. I have done allot of over night cooks and haven't had any problems just wondering if they help out and if you like them which one do you like the best I have a large BGE any info you could share would be great.
Thanks

The Pit Viper is only the blower/fan part of the DigiQ Guru. You need the whole setup, but yes, I would recommend them. Is it needed? No, but I'm glad I have one.XL BGE - Large BGE - Small BGE - Traeger Lil' Tex Elite - Weber Smokey Joe

Thanks a bunch been wanting to get one I just don't know anyone who has used them .i think it's time to get one.

@mroehl I have the DigiQ 2 and it is awesome at keeping the fire on target. Now having said that, it is an absolute luxury and not at all necessary because as we all know, with a little experience, we can keep the temp in range manually. To me it was worth the money to be able to go to the office, or golf course, or ball field during a cook, and KNOW there would be no problem with the fire temp.

Just ordered the DigiQ 2 going to do a pork butt when I get it thanks for all the usefull info everyone

Its not exactly a tutorial, but it is my first BBQ video and in my defense, i drank 12 beers during it.

I love the delay in realizing that a rib in a 285* egg is hot!!! Funny stuff. Nice looking ribs!

Jason, will there be a soundtrack available for this video? Good looking ribs.

I used my digiq for ribs on the 4th and for a 7 pound boston butt tonight. Holds temp perfectly and levels out when you open the dome in just minutes.

Please quit talking about how awesome they are! It's a bullet that I've been successfully avoiding.

If you are slick like I am, you will talk your local retailer into giving it to you for that price. It is the absolute lowest price bbq guru allows unless the store takes a hit on the rest.

+1 My dealer sold it to me for the $279 as part of their 10% off all accessories when I got my first XL.

I hear ya! and there are other less featured/fancy models out there by other manufacturers for half the cost, but I personally just haven't felt the need to own one yet. Probably in the not so distant future.....But for now I feel satisfied and spoiled with how well the Egg maintains temps without all that awesome and easy to use electronics.
