My First Time using the BGE...
JKL
Posts: 20
I fired up my large green egg for the first time last nite and cooked a steak. All I can say is FREAKIN WOW. That was a million dollar steak. Could not have been any better. I know I sound like a rookie here but the BGE is the best. Cheers

Now you get to experience disappointment at almost every restaurant, since food at home will just keep getting better and better the more you use it.

I did steaks my first time out too (go big or go home!)...they were awesome. One thing to note around here...if there are no pics - it didn't happen.
The comments about being disappointed eating out are totally true...the Egg has officially ruined going out to eat - but we still do "just to get out".

OK OK I am getting the idea around here......LOL. I did take pictures and they are attached. I did Chicken breasts with some hickory smoke the nect day for lunch....no pictures there. Yet again, just and incredible set of boobies.....ha ha ha ha. Thanks for the encouragement from everybody & Cheers to today's EGGventures.

The next part of the initiation ritual is you will feel the uncontrollable urge to purchase about 20 different rubs and seasonings for various cuts of meat. You won't be able to help yourself so don't fight the urge. :-)

@ hapster...what's your favorite brand of lump charcoal? Favorite rub?
-
LOL... all good and funny comments. ha ha ha .
I make my own Rub and the lump charcoal is still up for debate.

Nice looking steak JKL. Welcome, enjoy, glad you got a picture of your first egg when it was new - it will never look the same.

What it the overall outlook on the egg and it's uses and like &* dislikes. What are some of its weaknesses?
The whole egg thing is all new to me and I know I have much to learn. Cheers.
