We added on to our patio for our egg to have a safe place..  it was like 95 out and we had never done it before.. turned out satisfactory but i will NEVER lay pavers again!!!! never!!!! it was hard work.  My hubby said no more projects for the entire summer! :)

Did you rent a sod cutter to clear the space or did you dig it out by hand.    A sod cutter makes the prep work go so much easier.

Hmmm... Guess I will do pavers looks a lot easier than pouring cement

Pavers sick pouring concrete is easier if you don't have to mix it and just get a truck

we did rent a sod cutter.. the issue was that our front yard is a steep slope and lugging 110 stones and 1300lbs of sand up it (poor husband) then the dirt we did dig a little by hand back down the yard into the truck.  It was a lot more work than it looks. it got tiring!!!  and then i pretty much leveled the sand for each stone because it just wasnt working like you see on tv so it took FOREVER!  I couldnt imagine dragging all that dirt out too.   We used that polymetric sand in between i think it was called.  I was afraid it was going to turn out crappy but so far so good.
  • You boy looks whipped in that photo :))

I know the feeling I cut down a 50 foot tree by myself this weekend. I'm still sore. We won't be doing that again.

Very nice - clean, simple and effective. I particularly like the paver size. I'll be planning/daydreaming something along those lines.
