Seems like people are pleased with woks from both places. I opted to get mine from CGS because I was ordering the spider from them at the same time. Quick turnaround, I got mine within 2 or 3 days, but then again Denton is just down the road from Dallas so that might have helped. Tom is a stand up guy and makes good stuff.

In my opinion, if you're getting a wok, you need a spider to hold it. The 16" wok and spider from the CGS is what I use with and couldn't be happier.

I bought both from one place to save on shipping.

Got the wok and new PSWoo3 from CGS since it has the spider built into it now. Ordered on Tuesday and received it Wednesday! Getting ready to Wok and Roll this weekend!!!

Yep want to get a wok for my mini. Used to use an electric wok all the time years ago with oyster sauce. Leaning towards a carbon wok think its probably the norm. They also had a stainless that was the right size. Any one use a stainless wok?

i already have the full adjustable rig setup, so the spider i got, was looking at a 16" stone for pizza cuz the 13 doesn't cut it, too many hungry people on pizza nights.

I ordered mine separate, got the spider from CGS and the carbon steel wok from the Wok Shop. Personally I couldn't be happier. The Wok Shop had the spachula and ladle but not likely a show stopper. Either route you go you can't go wrong. Have done a few cooks with mine and the family really likes it.

I would invest in some decent welding gloves while your at it.

    the gloves I got http://www.fredsmusicandbbq.com/BBQ_BRAVO_GLOVES_EXTRA_HEAVY_DUTY_AND_EXTRA_EXTR_p/bbqgloves-bravo.htm

they're awesome and highly recommended. Burnt myself very badly taking the stone off the spider thru a set of supposedly "good" welding gloves. My fingers have since regrown. I can take the plate setter out of a 700 degree grill no problem.

Interesting glove option. Really wish there was one glove to rule them all. Seems there are a lot of glove opinions. I want something I can use to stir my charcoal by hand and not burn myself. Move plate setters, etc. Not that I need to just want a serious pair of gloves. Not really concerned with price. I just want the best protection possible.

If you want a plain, 16" carbon steel wok, either store is fine.  The Wok Shop offers a wider variety, but the Ceramic Grill Store carries the Spider (which I would think you will want for the Egg wokking).  Tom and Mrs. Chen are both very nice people and their prices are in line with each other, so I think it's a toss up.

You got a mini?  Call Mrs. Chen and tell her you've got a mini Egg.  Mickey, me, and several others bought a mini wok from her.  She'll even season it for you for $5.00  It fits the Mini without any woo or grid.  It amazingly fits on the side rim.

Once you get that, we'll put you on to two small pizza stones from Amazon that you can use to cook indirect and also do pizzas.

Tell her Gary and Mickey sent you.  You won't get a discount, but she'll be happy to hear it.
    :)

Yep. I have had one a few weeks now. Next week my mini woo and 4444 stones will be delivered. Already bought them. Will do with calling on the the wok. The mini is a blast. In about two months getting an xl, but will definitely be keeping them both. Love the mini. Already used it three times in one day once. Gets used almost daily.

Btw drove a long way to get the mini. Really wanted that size. A lot of places didn't stock it and I didn't want to wait a few weeks. Love my mini.

Good luck getting it seasoned, Ms Chan is great but she made it very clear to me that Gary and Mickey should stop telling people that she seasons for you.

I had a large and a medium for a couple of years before getting the mini.  I love mine too.  My regular dealer doesn't carry minis either, so I also had to drive further to get mine.  I'm in Houston, so the extra drive was about 3 miles.   :))

Three miles not bad. I made a day of phone calls finally found on in upland about an hour each way.
