Used egg question

Guys says he's cooked on it twice. How did he get it so black??? Lying or is it two smokes. I've cooked on mine about 12-15 times but haven't smoked anything yet and it looks brown not black. I can still tell its new. I'm not wanting to blacken my egg, I just was interested in purchasing but don't believe he has only used it twice

The key is in the gasket. That thing looks pristine. I believe he's telling the truth.

My egg turned black after the first day (spatchcock followed by ribs).

It's a little dark but the gasket tells the story. It deff hasn't been used much.

an eggs an egg, but that looks very lightly used by the gasket. Mines been black since the second time I fired it up.

Was wondering opinions on buying used. If something breaks it isn't warrantied. How many people buy good guy deals on Craig's list etc. and are happy with it. I know there is a lot of experience here.
