I just joined the BGE tribe

edited May 2012 in EggHead Forum

I have been thinking about a BGE for 2 years and finally got off my dead a*& and bought one last weekend. I just used it for only the second time tonight. But I have been following the forum for quite a while and am looking forward to following all your advice. I can already see my summer slipping away into a fog of Egg obsession.

    Welcome aboard!

Are you new to grilling, or are you just stepping up to the Egg from another type of grill?

Welcome. Don't forget to take pictures of the fog.
Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.
  • Not new to grilling. I have a very nice gas grill, but always missed the charcoal flavor and wanted to try my hand at smoking. The salesman told me the only limitation to the Egg is my imagnation and having looked at them for 2 years I didn't doubt a word of it.

I live in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

    I just got one too!
I have had if for two weeks and I've already done steak, ribs, pulled pork, and pizza on it.
  • I did a simple bbq chicken on Sunday to get my feet wet, then did oysters rockefeller and soft shell crabs tonight.

Showing up here and making people jealous is no way to make friends.  =))

j/k Welcome aboard. It looks like you are breaking it in right. I wish I could afford to get those ingredients in my area.
I finally took the plunge and bought my large Big Green Easter Egg from Roswell Hardware in Roswell, GA 03/31/2012

  • I'll post some photos of the selection at my local fishmonger. My hometown lies at the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay, so we get an amazing variety of very fresh seafood. I am definitely going to figure out a 1001 ways to make the most of that on the Egg.
