Clean porcelain stove top grates in Egg?

My cast iron stove top grates are heavily carboned up.  Would this bake off at say 600 - 650f in the Egg without damaging the heavy porcelain coating?  How long to cook them?

Thanks

the original BGE grates were porcelain, and eventually cracked and rusted from the blazing direct heat.

remember that in a 600 degree egg, your lump is not at 600, only the exhaust and environment are.  the lump is closer to 1200, 1400, even 1800 degrees sometimes

I wasn't going to dump them into the coals - would put them on the grate atop the fire ring.  Could even go indirect for that matter.

well.  the original BGE grates weren't dumped into the coals either.  but the direct heat of the lump did a job on them over time.  indirect would be better.
