Ok that link shows that you can safely repair the fire box. But.....still should not do pizzas? Is that right then?

First, to close out something I said earlier, page 10 and 11 of my Operating Manual and Cookbook say "The ceramic fire ring and fire box do not need to be removed for cleaning; the parts might get dropped or damaged if removed. This type of damage is not covered by your warranty; the warranty covers damage due to cracking caused by heat."
Second, if I were in your position, I'd be worried about the moral dilemma, too. However, since you may know the original purchaser, I'd go back to him and have him put in the request for service. Then you meet the qualifications under the warranty: "Lifetime Warranty to the original purchaser whose name appears on the purchase invoice, and who has registered their Warranty with the offices of the Big Green Egg."

Dropping of course its not covered, but the mere act of removing the fire box does not void the warranty.Geaux Tigers!!!

I agree. I thought the language was harsher until my re-read a few minutes ago.

I would still try and get a replacement but I have seen some posts from other users that say JB weld works. Also like Stike says the weight of the the box should hold itself together anyhow. If you do use the epoxy let us know how it turns out.

Them: "Send us a picture showing that the crack goes all the way through."You: "Okay, here you go."Them: "No warranty for you. You removed it."You: "You wanted to see if the crack goes through."Them: "Sorry, them's the rules."Just kidding. I don't think they are like that. I think it is just advice they are giving.I finally took the plunge and bought my large Big Green Easter Egg from Roswell Hardware in Roswell, GA 03/31/2012 -
Nightwing - give your supportive dealer your future business and you will feel better for giving him your business and he will be rewarded for helping you out.

that definitely puts a pause in someone's actions. Something about the questioning innocence.I can definitely say my son helped me align my morality compass. Need to set a reminder to thank him for that when he's an adult.Bx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket!
