White soot. Should I be concerned?

This is the result of cooking on Publix Greenwise Lump charcoal. Not only was it slow to light, heavy on the sparks, and short lived, but now I find this after I clean up the next day. Ugh! Thankfully, it wipes off just as easy as the black stuff.

Have you every seen this? I've only use 1 bag of lump prior to this. It was BGE brand. It had black soot.

The white stuff is normal after a hot cook (at least that's when I really notice in on mine). Wipe it off and fire it up again.

That would be a cast iron pizza pan. Unlike stone, it wouldn't shatter when juices spill over onto it.

Some of your posts are kind out there. Possibly a little anal. When stike helped you out when you didn't know how to use the daisy you corrected him as soon as he gave you an explanation. I mean no offense by this but I would suggest you can't come off as a newb and an expert at the same time. I love my induction unit BTW

I really don't know where I ever came off as an expert. I want it to be so clear that I am a newb that I put my date of purchase in my signature.

looks to me like the underside of a drip pan, flipped over.

if you had no ash on TOP of the thing, i wouldn't worry. try a little Barkeepr's Friend if you need it

Thanks @stike,

I didn't have any problems getting it clean. It wiped off with a wet paper towel. I just never saw it with BGE lump, even at pizza temps.

I get that white ash after a hot cook or burn out. It just wipes off if it's the same stuff
