Best way to marinate a whole chicken?

I've done several spatchcock chickens in the past, and they always turn out juicy. However, the meat never has a great deal of flavor. Is there a "best" way to marinate a chicken, and do any of you have any favorite recipes? Thanks!

Funny you should ask, see whole chicken post below from Onemanwolfpack

Oops. I scanned the page to check but must have overlooked it. Thanks.

You could always inject flavor. I did garlic and herb one time, and it turned out great.

Good point milkman. If you have a marinade you like and don't have enough time to soak you can easily strain the marinade to use for an injection.

Thanks for the tips you guys!
