XL with a Cracked Fire Box

I just noticed after cooking some venison burgers that I have a crack in my fire box. I am wondering if this is something I need to fix or let it ride. The fire box comes with an expansion joint so the crack should not make any difference, right???

You'd get a free one under warranty._______________________________________________XLBGE

Just spoke with dealer and a new one will be shipped to them with their next order. This way I dont pay any shipping.

Use the cracked one until it crumbles. Mine had been cracked into two pieces for over a year, and recently cracked into three pieces. There are other eggers that have posted pics of a firebox and firering pieces that looked like a jigsaw puzzle, but were all still functional.

My plan is to use old one until it crumbles then install warranty piece.

you have got to get every penny out of it buddy!

I've never been known for my frugality but with an unlimited supply of new parts under warranty, I would just move on with the new stuff and start wrecking those.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX
