This is from a customer looking for help on the BGE face book page: http://www.facebook.com/BGECanada which you can read the entire thread there! Bellow are some comments from there!
Went to dealer and found out today this problem is not covered......seems wrong to me!!!
Chunks are falling off and they say nothing wrong t'ill it actually breaks.......what do they want ,someone to get hurt when it breaks when cooking at high temps or even burn down something????????
Yeap that was the answer from our Canadian mother ship
This is bad PR for BGE when they are not supporting there customer in Canada! Mother ship please do something with the lack of customer service in CANADA!!!
Also please help out that customer!
I also had issue with the candian mothership and it took over 6 weeks for me to get a replacement part for one of my BGE! Unsat!
Cheers!

it's not a structural issue, which is maybe why they aren't covering it. i do know some folks on the 'other' forum had the same thing happen this winter, and got support.

Its not my egg but was on the facebook for the canadian bge and saw this! I got shity customer service in the past and it burns me when I see fellow canadians experiencing the same issues with them over and over! This is why I posted this here! I love my BGE that I own but now after seeing and heairing issues with Canadian customer service that lots of good Canadian eggheads are experiencing! I am definatelly disapointed and I am debating if I should continue to recommend BGE in canada! I stongly beleave that BGE Atlanta should get a hold of the Canadian rep and straight them out!!!!!!!Cheers! They cost way more in Canada too, you think the service would be better!
-
I beleave the higher cost in Canada is due to duty and brokage and shipping fees!Cheers! Shawn My Blog: http://hrmcreativebbq.blogspot.com/ My Dads Custom Handles Blog http://dannyscarvings.blogspot.com

27 exclamation points in this discussion so far! Guess Canadians are passionate about their customer service!

Here's what the owner of that egg had to say over at the greeneggers forum!
After having multiple issues with warranty coverage here in Canada today i sold my eggs!!!! Yeap all gone well still have the mini to sell but the 2 large, and one small gone
Kinda sad day been loving the eggs for seven years and was actualy a devoted dealer as well. But with all the changes they have implemented here well they lost my interest and pissed me off so bad that i said i would sell the eggs and move on to prove my point. I am a man of my words and always promoted that egg was the best and best warrantied bbq out there that was why i sold them and owned them......now just can not accept the pissy excuses and lack of interest and devotion the Canadian distributor gives the customers !
Will still be lurking and the occasional post but will now be cooking with another ceramic cooker
Hopefully the U.S head quarters are not going to make the same mistakes these guys up here are doing.Cheers! Shawn My Blog: http://hrmcreativebbq.blogspot.com/ My Dads Custom Handles Blog http://dannyscarvings.blogspot.com -
Wow,I bet the mother ship doesn't even care. They should start with all the competition out there now for less money. That why people are buying green is for the warranty, they feel it is worth the extra money. But if they aren't going to back it then why not just buy the one for half price.

Hmmm.... I`m about to take the plunge but leaves me scratching my head and thinking about looking into other brand names
