Ok, I liked the idea of the Hi-Que turbo grate instead of the cast iron plate that comes with the egg, but had to start putting a limit on accessories. So I broke out my (cough, cough) weber smokey joe (the small portable one), and the charcoal grate in there is the same diameter. I threw it in there, and lighting for me now is a breeze by putting the oil soaked paper towels in the bottom through the ash door, and turning the whole egg into a chimney starter. :)
I will say that by looking at pics, the Hi-que one looks like thicker diameter steel, and will last longer. I will be getting one from them also so I can still use my smokey joe for travel. But it was nice to try before I buy without spending more money.
