I'll tell some stories after I finish this liquor drink. I will, however, have to change the names to protect the innocent.

Boys and Girls. Our own Travis was the "Bell of the Ball" at last nights Salado pre-party. There will be pictures later but my hands were full of food and drink.

Just got back home, didn't attend the after party. Micky, spring chicken and all other organizers who I don't know did a fantastic job. Was a ton of fun... And a lot of really good cooking going on.

Thanks to the organizers and the cooks, great job.

No kidding...had a blast!!!  Thank you for putting on such a well organized event Mickey!

I haven't been a egg owner for a month and I've already attended a fest, worked up the confidence to cook for the vets, ate my 1st oyster (it was great Travis) and now have a nest with my small addition.  The experience was fabulous and I'll definitely do it again.  It was good to see some familiar names and make some new egghead friends.  My take from the fest is that it's far from traditional BBQ and most really focus on showing attendees how versatile the egg can be.  I think that's an excellent approach and has given my some great ideas for future cooks.

While in the area, we decided to cross one off the BBQ Joint bucket list. :D

    Who won the eggs???
    • Tom from Ceramic Grill Store
    • A very nice guy they called Santa (wearing a Santa hat)
    • A cook...I think the ones who did the asian country ribs
    • Some lady attending...I believe a non-egg head
Wish I knew all the names...sorry.  I must say that the packages they put together were great.  I'm very jealous I didn't win one.

When I first started on this forum, a lot of folks were using a few slogans on me such as, " if you are looking you ain't cooking. There was one other one that was brought forward, I would like to use it back to you guys,,,,

no pics it didn't happen. Was Salado for real, haven't seen a single photo. No sure if I believe you all.

OK...I'll comply.  travisstrick hit it out of the park with his grilled and raw oysters.  They had a ton of traffic throughout the fest.  He and his pops were shucking away.

Here is a action shot of Travis prepping
