Thanks to all of you that help us new folk figure out what we need before we buy. My authorized dealer was extremely helpful too. I calibrated the thermometer and fired it up with a Looft lighter. 5 minutes after that it was at 200 and I closed the bottom vent to about 1/8th inch and the same on the daisy wheel. Held the temperature at 225 for 30 minutes and have been playing with the upper and lower vents to hold it at 250, 300, 350, and 400 over the last few hours. I'm amazed at the ease of control. Tomorrow I will attempt my first cook!!! Thanks again for everyones' input.

Sweet!!! Nice setup. I would have to throw some food on that grill. No need to waste that lump.

Nice setup. I remember when mine looked like that. Very shiny.

I'm negotiating a deal with the lovely lady of the house. I cook and she keeps it nice and shiny - we will see.

The True Value store had one for a large BGE on their showroom floor. The one for an XL took 7 days to come in from the distributer in Indiana. They are all Aluminum with a baked on powder coat that comes in a bunch of different colors. The doors have gaskets so they are weather proof and the doors under the xl egg should be wide enough to hold the place setter and pizza stone - I'll know for sure tonight when I unbox them and put them in. The store I purchased through was the Harpeth True Value Home Center, 203 Downs Blvd., Franklin, TN. 37064 (615) 794-3641

I've seen this same exact table at a dealer by my house. I'm wondering how it'll hold up with rain and if it'll rust. I'm still debating over getting one of these metal ones or getting one made from wood.
Looks nice!

Aluminum doesn't rust.

I live near Nashville and it has been raining pretty hard all day and the table isn't covered. I'll know in the next few days if there is any hardware that could be problematic. I'll post my findings.

Nice table. If you don't mind me asking, what does a table like that set you back.

Nice table dlk7. Get busy and cook on that thing.

I'm ashamed what I did for a Klondike Bar!!

The table for the large is about $1300 and the XL is about $2000. Did a spatchcock chicken on the egg last night in the rain. I was soaked, but the chicken was great.

I like the idea of a metal top. The top of my wooden table gets dirty very quickly, and is difficult to clean.

Nice setup, please don't keep it shiny. It is the opposite of a new porsche, the dirtier the better (or at least the more it looks like you use it).
