Why is my gasket doing this?

Bought green egg 2 weeks ago. Lower gasket has pulled loose twice at the hinge. Top gasket fine. Used 3m adhesive when I repaired. Obviously somethings not right, but what?

It looks like a defect.  Have you done a really hot cook, before the gasket had time to set?

Get the new nomex gasket and hight temp silicone glue use for fireplace to glue the new one on. Also your suppose to do a few low temp cook to cure the gasket. BGE original gasket are known for years to have issue replace it with the nomex or rutland. If its a new EGG the mothership shoud provide you new gaskets!

Cook hot, cook cold. Not your fault, BGE gaskets suck. What happened to you is what they do. We will start 35 new Eggs at Salado on Sat morning. In the first hour 5 will have gaskets hanging. By 3:30 when we shut the new eggs down 10 will be off or hanging. Within that first 30 days more than 20 will be down. In 60 days 30 will bite the big one. Not you fault.

I have a similar problem. My Hawley isn't falling off, but it is burnt up in spots. Egg is only 1 month old. I emailed BGE on Saturday. Offices were closed. I'll call them on Monday. I'm hoping they'll send me a nomex gasket as others have said BGE has done for them.
