Ribeyes - Not Egged
Friday night, we had a family dinner at my parents house. Grilled up some ribeyes. Most opted for Dizzy Pig Red Eye Express, Mom and I went with Raising the Steaks. Grilled them up on my old gas grill that I gave to my parents last year as we weren't using it anymore.
Sure do miss having all that square footage and it was nice to just turn some dials and wait 5 minutes for the grill to pre-heat.
Steaks were done in about 8 minutes, served up along with some baked potatoes and a salad.
I know that the steaks weren't Egged, and some people will frown about this post, but sometimes you just have to work with what you got. It was a nice evening, spending time with the family and enjoying some good wines. Hope everybody had a good weekend.

Looking good. I've been on the fence about getting a gasser to supplement the egg for quick cooks and for the wife. I'm out of town a lot and she can barely figure out how to turn on the TV let alone fire up the egg! Sure the egg is supreme, but a nice gas grill is pretty freakin' awesome too.LBGE, Weber OTG w/ Rotisserie, Weber Genesis S-330, Chargriller Duo, AR-15, AK-47

VI, for point of reference (and this is true!), the easy bake oven has an infrared element far hotter than those at the finest steakhouses. ruth's chris will brag about their 1800 degree infrared, but they cannot come close to the +/-4000 degree element in a 100 watt lightbulb.ed egli avea del cul fatto trombetta -Dante

Griffin,
Firstly, kudos to you for posting that here - it took some courage.
I still use my gasser. I cooked vegetables on it quite often during the summer, including some nice asparagus this past weekend. All my meat goes on the egg however but it is common for me to have them both going at the same time
When I am traveling my 15 year old son cooks on it for the fam and he puts out some pretty good stuff with it (I don't trust him yet with the egg). I use it also to cook dogs and sometimes burgers when we have functions with lots of kids, like BDay parties and the like.

My buddy was going to buy my Weber as a housewarming gift for his son, but turns out the kid doesn't want a grill. I'm almost kind've relieved, I found I prefer the gasser for grilled fruit, plus it still makes a dandy stand for the hot CI grate from the egg..._____________
