Finally got my large BGE in it's new home. A good friend who happens to be an excellent carpenter helped me build this table. It's all red oak, stained and two coats of outdoor urethane on it. It's built to last, still needs some finishing touches but I finally get to cook on my egg without bending over to the ground.
All of the screw holes are countersunk and plugged with oak plugs, sanded flush. The white is a piece of corian that is going to get replaced with Granite when I can scratch up a few more dollars. Fun but time consuming project.

Good looking table! What are you going to cook tonight to break it in?I'm Kristi ~ Live in FL ~ BGE since 2003.

Exactly, I am putting an aluminum rod in between, that's the slight modification I had to the plans on the naked whiz site. I figure the bar will help with moving it when necessary as well as providing a place to hang a towel and tongs. That's part of the "finishing touches I'm working on, couldn't wait to get it going as a friends fabricating the aluminum dowel for me.

Actually made a pork sirloin tip roast I got from Costco last night on it. It was fantastic...here's a picture of it while it was cooking.

Nice looking table and cook. I had to look twice to make sure that meat was really cooking on a BGE because I haven't seen on that clean in 4 years.

Thank hogaholic, it wont look like that for long, I promise you that much. Looking at smoking a brisket very soon and some pulled pork even sooner. You aren't the first to mention that either, my BGE friends have made similar comments when I shared the pictures with them.Nice buck you're holding as well.

Very nice! I wouldn't use granite. It looks great but they're are some down sides. 1) very expensive 2) it has pours and whatever you spill on it will seep in, eventually collecting on the bottom where it will mold. However, it's your table and it looks great.

Nice. Someday I'll get around to building one. Maybe this summer.....I mean spring. Too hot in Texas to do it in summer.

Thanks boatbum and Reno. I'm still leaning toward the granite, don't plan on pulling stuff right off the grill onto it, rather into a tin or something, I just want a place to put whatever is hot so it doesn't burn the wood or affect the urethane, if I need to cut something, I'll do it inside or use the corian that I replace. Thanks everyone.
