Hello,

I recently earned my bachelors degree by taking night classes since Aug 2008.  In celebration of it, my wife made me this awesome BGE cake modeled after my table and egg. The entire cake is edible!!  The table is cake, the posts and egg are made out of rice crispie treats and cake!!  We at all but the lid!!!

  • thanks Tweev, Tell me about it, started classes Aug 2008, had a son Dec 2008, a girl Jul 2010.  Feels good to not have homework.  Graduation date was Feb 5, 2012, and the very best part of it for me to use as a roll model to my kids someday is that I graduated with a 4.0 will working 45-50 hrs a week.

  • now I can get back to cooking my XL.  I have recently sold the one in this photo (taken when it was bought in '97) and purchased the newer version of the XL because of the increased internal height for cooking turkeys 20-24Lb size.  I did have to give my wife some guff, because she has the egg on the wrong side of the table :)

Perhaps that's the table for the Large BGE she wants you to get?

I think she made the inside look like a new Egg as a hint.  I imagine the inside of the one you currently have is black...like mine.

The one I sold to a coworker was seasoned well, my new XL is well on its way to not looking so new inside :)
