I live in orchard country in southern Ontario and I noticed that they have started pruning the cherry, apricot , peach and apple trees. Will the prunings be any good for using for smoke. How small should I cut the prunings. They are about 1/2 inch dia twigs.

Make sure they aren't using insecticides on those trees, external or systemic.
