I live in western North Carolina and can't buy this brand locally.  Instead of paying high shipping costs, where is the nearest place I can drive to and pick some up??? I tried calling the company and didn't get an answer.  Thanks for any help!

If you visit www.grillstuff.com, they will ship for free if you buy $99 worth.  I think it was $10.95/bag.  I ordered some and it all went well.

This brings up the question I've been  pondering for a few weeks.

I bought 2 bags of Ozark  Oak at Fred's BBQ & Music in Shillington, PA, and did a bunch of cooks with it.  I normally use Royal Oak (USA) for my regular cooks and Wicked Good for  the long cooks.  I didn't see much difference between Royal Oak and Ozark Oak.  Ozark Oak is much more expensive and is almost equal to the cost of Wicked Good.

Do people really find that Ozark Oak is worth the money?

I've cooked lots of butts in my day and do them the same every time.  When I've used Cowboy they turn out good.  Royal Oak they are great.  Recently ran into Ozark Oak and tired it.  They came out outstanding.

I forgot to mention that my neighbors always get some and all commented that they were the best I had ever done.

It is hard to believe that it makes that much difference, but I'm sold.

I use only Ozark Oak. Guess I am lucky, my grocery store always has a big supply and only $4.99 for a 10 lb. bag! (and less than a mile from my house)

danv23, I'm curious what was outstanding about the Ozark Oak cook?  Was it the smoke taste or something else?

jimbrandt, at $4.99/bag I'd definitely switch to Ozark Oak.  Here, Royal Oak is $6.37/10 pounds and Ozark Oak is $12/10 pounds.  If I mail order OO, it would be $10.99.

Hard to put my finger on it really.  I felt that it was more moist and flavorful than the others that I has done.  I always use a mix of wood, hickory, pecan, and apple, so i don't think it had to do with smoke.  I'm in the same place you are though in that I have to order it.  Once my supply of RO is done I'll be ordering OO!
