cracked plate setter

I noticed I have a crack in my plate setter. It just appeared. Is there a way to fix this or will I need a new one? It is almost all the way across. This is for an XL. I would appreciate some advice.

If you think the crack is due to a defect, you should get a replacement under your warranty. If you know you dropped it or something, then maybe someone can suggest something like breaking it and then repairing it with furnace cement? Good luck!

I didn't drop it. It just showed up the other day when I was cooking ribs low and slow. It is about 3 months old.

I had the same thing happen to my XL plate setter. I never dropped it (if I had it would have broke into pieces). My dealer handed me a warranty replacement right away. My Dealer has asked me to E:mail a picture. I will tomorrow. I live 35 miles from dealer. Wife says I'm going christmas shopping saturday so I can drop it off then. Hopefully they will take care of me.

This happened to a Large plate setter that I had and I just fixed it with some JB Weld and it did the trick.
-
You're not worried about JB Weld being exposed to the high temperatures the plate setter likely sees being so close to the fire?

I wish mine would break so i could get an adjustable rig.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

My dealer warrantied my cracked plate setter. All is good.

Dealer replaced mine no problem. Glued the old one with JB weld, it works great.
