It was late when I got to put them on... Totally forgot about it!!! I'm sure it'll be ok, just wanted to get some input on it.

You could still inject with Hot broth later in the cook once the meat breaks down a might leave more of the broth inside
    context is important :)
  • It will turn out good without injection. Most probably don't inject anyways. I know several who wait until the butt reaches the plateau and then they inject it. They claim the injection works better that way. Im going to do it this way the next time I do one.

I've never injected and they turn out plenty moist.

  • BS. It doesn't make them hammy.
  • Not an injection fan for butts

I only flavor inject my butts just before putting them on ... so far, my faves are a mix of apple juice with either mango or peach puree ... Tastes great with pork without taking over....

    No hammy taste this way.

I've never injected and don't plan on starting.  I like the flavour I achieve and obviously they are moist.  This is an EGG after all.  Why are you injecting?  What are you putting in for? Flavour? Moisture?

Don't sweat it.  This will probably be your best BUTT ever.
  • I'm another of the never injected club.  Even when I was using my upright smoker I didn't.  It is not needed with the Egg (unless you want to add some flavor).  Pulled pork is one of my favorites and you can't beat it out of an Egg.

Like I said ... I inject for a little extra flavor ... try it .. then tell me it sucks!

The butts turned out great - lots of positive reviews! Fed over 50 people yesterday at our tailgate. I have tried to inject using cider, creole butter (I really like this one), and Chris Lilly's recipe. I may not inject anymore.
