I have a 9.5# butt that I am going to be cooking between 245 and 285 dome temp. My question is how long will it take to cook? I want to eat it for dinner Sunday night at 6pm and have to find out when to put it on the egg to start cooking.
Thanks for the help

Each butt has a mind of its own. Rule of thumb is 1.5 hours per pound. You want it to finish early rather than late. When it is done you can wrap in foil, and then towels and throw in an ice chest for 2-3 hours. It will still be very hot and easy to pull when guest arrive.Kent Madison MS
