Meat Thermometers

Hello all. Just bought a BGE last week, and I am looking for a digital remote meat thermometer that will withstand the temperatures that the BGE will produce, and will show the temperature inside the egg. I saw the Maverick ET-732, and it looks pretty good. Both probe wires are heat resistant to 716 F. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Any suggestions.

I don't keep a thermometer in my meat cooking high and fast. I just go by look
and feel and then check it to confirm. So, I recommend not worrying about heat
resistance of a probe as it really isn't needed unless you are cooking low n

I agree with 4Runner. I have an ET-73 and a DigiQ DX and only use them for low & slows.
For everything else I use a Thermapen - couldn't live without my Themapen.

Is the thermometer sold under the BGE brand also the ET73? They look the same. We let our temp get high one time with it and now it shows a lot of errors. We would like to get a replacement probe.

I've seen the ET-73 (in pictures) with the BGE logo on it. Guess they resell them as their own? Not sure.
I think they are one in the same though.
The ET-732 is similar to the ET-73, just "rounder" in appearance - if that makes any sense???
