How long should it take for a 5 pound butt to cook at 300 degrees dome temp? Thanks!

Plan on1.5 hours per # but pull when internal temp is 195 - 205. Gene,Last night my LBGE settled at 300 and would not go lower (crept up from 250 with top and bottom vent barely cracked) which is the way it does some times. Normally I cook at 250, however the 8# went 11 hours exactly. Pulled at 200 and is in cooler for an 11am pulling.Kent Madison MS

As 4Runner noted, about 1.5 hours per pound seems to be about right, I typically shoot for a dome temp of 200-250. I find that half open on the bottom and throwing my chunks in and using only the top to hold temp for 30 minutes prior to putting my meat on works well for me.I use wicked good weekend warrior blend and find it is harder to light but lasts longer.
