It isn’t often that I get moved off the meat and taters, but
last night was one of those nights.  She
had been eyeing a Neely's recipe and I was excited about
watching the Bristol night race.  I made
a PB&J pie, but the star of the show was the sliders.

A few pics...

The homemade tomato jam was really tasty.  It had a little sweet and a little heat with
a tangy finish.  Very nice!  I think it will be tasty on a lot of
things.  The sliders were moist and
tender, probably thanks to the ricotta cheese, and well seasoned too.

The taters were simply par boiled, pam'd, and sprinkled with
some Dizzy Pig Swamp Venom.  Kind of half
way to what Griff posted a while back.

The pie was very tasty and quite delicious.  I got the recipe from a post on this forum
and it did not disappoint.  No pics of
the pie... Bad Brad was leading and Martin was holding off Jeff with 2 tires.

Looks awesome.  We made Umami burgers last night.

Here is a great recipe fr Tomato Chutney.  It is great on pork and chicken.  It is from the Blue Willow Inn which is a pretty famous country style restaurant about 40 minutes outside of Atlanta.

    Blue Willow Inn

    Ingredients:

    1 16-ounce can whole tomatoes

    1 cup light brown sugar

    1/2 cup white sugar

2 cups finely chopped green pepper

    1 cup finely chopped onion

    2 tablespoons ketchup

2-10 drops of Tabasco sauce, to taste

    1 teaspoon black pepper

    Directions:

         In a
heavy saucepan, stir together all the ingredients.

    1. Cook at a simmer for about 2 hours, stirring frequently until thickened.

    2. Cool. Will keep 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
  • I copied and pasted the recipe.  I don't know why it came out like that.  It is really, really good and easy to make.
  • Could you provide the recipe for the burgers as well, those look great.

That a good looking meal. That tomato jam is also great on a leftover brisket sandwich!

Here is a link to the recipe she used.  I still cant believe it was a Neely's recipe... I think Bobby Flay was throwing them a bone! :)) :D

Whoever came up with it... it is a tasty little slider.  Thanks for looking and the kind words.
