I saw some pictures on a post awhile back of someone that had a onion wrapped on foil on an egg. I am going to try that tomorrow but I have not been able to find a recipe with temps and times. I was thinking about puttting a bit of bacon grease and butter in and on the bulb and then wrapping "God's Apple" in foil for a 1 hour (350 to 400 degrees)and then unwrap the top half so I get smoke flavor in the onion, for 20 min or so. Think this will work?

I have heard a simple recipe of butter, a bouillon cube, foil it, grill it for 30 minutes or so (until tender). Here is a recipe that is something like it:If you want to add bacon grease, well, that can only make it better!Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

...I like the idea you have of leaving it unwrapped to get some smoke :-bdWhich came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
