So the trade was supposed to take place tomorrow. My aunt and uncle were trading one of my larges for their medium, cart and $100. They just called to say dropped it while loading it up.
Checking to see how much to replace the medium base, the ring and the box....gawdanggint! They are beside themselves.
Thanks in advance.

Dern it. :(
If everyone is OK then maybe "this to shall pass" :ermm: -
Ouch! I'm guessing they are close or already past the price of a new medium egg. Replacment parts add up really quick. Sorry to hear about your/their egg!"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan

Oh no Staci, that really sux :pinch: I hate to hear about broken eggs
Seriously, replacing all of those parts at retail pricing would prolly cost more than a new egg :( You also need to check for any damage to the band assembly  Sorry to hear this -
:( Sorry to hear that. Glad everyone is ok. Call the mother ship on monday and see what they say.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

Stacy,
Let me know what kinda of prices they quote you down there. Not sure if you have a good dealer friend or not but my man Dan will hook up my peeps. Let me know.
I know what I paid for a large base (not through him) and what someone else paid for a large base (a year later) through Dan and it was a HUGE savings. He takes care of us quite well. I need to hit him up for some Lump too. want any? -
Sure sorry to hear that...

Got the quote, but left it at the office. I remember it was $568 for all three pieces. A new small was $540, right now, torn between the two options. Do the parts come with the same warranty? I think that'll be factor.
I'll text you the breakdown of the individual pieces tomorrow. Thanks Adam! Affirmative on the lump, but we'll talk about that tomorrow too. -
Just wrong I say! Wrong. :pinch:

Roger that.

:(
So sorry to hear the terrible news. Hope it works out in the end.

Re: the warranty, technically speaking, if they bought it and then sold it to you, you have no warranty on it.The Naked Whiz

Well the deal sort of "fell through". Turns out he didn't know to tighten the bolts until they bent. How does that information not make it through?
-
If you haven't taken posession of the Egg yet, and it is still with the original owners, the warrany should be good, right?
-
Sounds like they were trying to carry it by the hinge... :pinch:
Sorry the trade didn't work out for you, or for their egg. They probably feel downright horrible about what happened. I know I would.BJ (Powhatan, VA) -
I would think Hornhonk would be right. If they still had possession then it should be covered under their warranty. At least I hope it works out that way for everybody's sake.

I wouldn't think the warranty covers dropping the egg, just things like defects in materials/workmanship. I don't want to sound cold, but if they didn't tighten the bands enough, and follow-up with another tightening after the first few cooks, it's not BGE's fault.BJ (Powhatan, VA)

Good point, ShedFarm.

Wow, 568 just for those parts. That is just slightly less than we paid for our second large new. Of course we got a super deal through a friend that worked for a dealer.Egging on two larges + 36" Blackstone griddle

How does the warranty apply here anyway, they dropped it. It's not a manufacturers defect. I could not in good conscience ask for a warranty replacement on something I broke.Egging on two larges + 36" Blackstone griddle
